Oh Christmas Tree!

Carver went on his first Christmas Tree-Hunting Expedition to Summer's Christmas Tree Farm this year. While he pointed out a few beauties, Daddy decided they just weren't worthy. Carver also found that eating snow was better than cutting down a tree.

(And I realize we're going a bit overboard with the puppy hat. He does have other hats that he wears...REALLY!)

Carver attended his first Halloween Party today at Story Time. He went as his favorite animal...a "pup pup".

The Football Blanket

Carver's Aunt Shannon made him this cute blanket. She calls it his "Football Blanket" as the colors represent our three favorite football teams, Packers, Vikings and Hawkeyes.

It's The Great Pumpkin, Carver James!

We took Carver to Peck's Market on Sunday to pick out his pumpkin and check out the animals at the Petting Zoo. He got a kick out of the deer but wasn't as impressed with the witches in the Haunted House.

Carver is 9 months old!

We're working on getting caught up on Carver's back-blogging but had to post his newest portraits. Mommy realized it is a necessary luxury to have another photographer create Carver's portraits at this age. It's a little tough to manage with him wrapped around my legs!

Carver is up to something new every day. He's waving, standing, growling, creating a language of jibberish, hiding things under the sofa, and sporting two new top teeth.

He's almost 29 inches tall and weighs 19 pounds. If he would just sit still for a few minutes, he might actually convert a few calories to fat.

Hobo Days

Carver had a blast at Hobo Days. He ate mud in the driveway, played football with Uncle BJ and fell in love with Cousin Kim...or maybe he just loved that her breath smelled like corn chips.

Carver's Visit to Iowa City

Carver and dad took a trip to Iowa City to visit Grandma Linda for her birthday. He had a great time torturing Mickers the Cat and visited Kinnick Stadium for the first time.

Carver Sings Bluegrass

This is Carver's rendition of "Man of Constant Sorrow". He offered up his harmony at The Concert Under the Bridge in Wabasha.

Independence Day Celebrations

Carver had a busy holiday weekend! On Friday, we attended the Sexton Family Reunion in West Albany, MN. His cousin Riley loved giving the 'beebee' his 'baba' and sharing her rocks with him.

After the reunion, we went out on the boat with Grandma & Grandpa where Carver quickly passed out. Yes, there is a baby somewhere under that sunhat and life jacket.

On Saturday, we drove to Britt, IA to see Great-Grandma Grifhorst where daddy introduced Carver to the long-standing Grifhorst tradition of Ping-Pong. Carver will be ready to take on Uncles BJ & Dave at Christmas!
